Lab Lead – Hardware Engineering Labs – Andover, MA
SummaryThis role manages and implements engineering lab strategic projects and day-to-day administrative functions across multiple labs, focusing on safety, security, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Manage Lab Operating Procedures (LOP) and provide direction for lab users on established policies.
- Coordinate and implement Environmental Health Safety and Sustainment Property & Metrology Management, including maintenance of equipment service contracts and ongoing equipment repairs.
- Perform cost analysis and ensure task completion within approved budgets.
- Process lab purchase requests through SAP, SRM, and Vallen, supporting Supply Chain Management (SCM).
- Oversee audit and assessment preparation.
- Lead Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Voluntary Protection Program, develop corrective action plans, and assist in developing long‑range objectives, including engineering customer goals.
- Safeguard classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation, using defense material/property under Export Administration Regulations.
- Develop and implement communication plans, providing consulting support to functional and engineering customer management.
- Influence stakeholders within and outside responsible areas at an operational level regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
- Work autonomously with limited oversight; provide professional input, guidance, and problem‑solving.
Requires standing, sitting, walking, and occasional local travel. Occasional travel outside the local area may be required.
Qualifications- University degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Experience in an engineering lab environment overseeing or implementing safety, security, compliance, and property management.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical/electronic skills.
- Experience with OSHA/NFPA industrial policies and regulations.
- Experience working directly with engineers, technicians, and leadership in an engineering lab environment for safety, security, compliance, and property management.
- Experience with EHS, NISPOM, JAFAN, and Foreign Object Elimination.
- Ability to organize and track capital and expense assets.
- Ability to build positive, lasting relationships with customers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
U.S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Benefits & CompensationSalary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD annually.
