Job Summary

The RF Microelectronics/Module Design & Foundry Services Department (RFMicro) department is looking for an early career Microelectronics Assembly Technician. In this role, you will work closely with a team of multi‑disciplined engineers to turn engineering designs into prototypes through microelectronics assembly. You will need to quickly come up to speed mastering fundamental assembly skills in an engineering lab setting. There are circumstances in which you will need to explore creative ideas to circumvent assembly challenges.

Effective and efficient communication on a daily basis is essential to precisely translating customers’ needs into physical prototypes in the shortest amount of time. Your technical background, keenness for communication, strong motivation to learn new skills, coachability, great attention to detail, and a sense of ownership are the keys to your success on this job.

What You Will Do
  • Own daily microelectronics assembly tasks in an engineering lab.
  • Interact with a lateral and vertical cross‑functional team effectively and efficiently.
  • Work with SME and skilled teammates to provide end‑to‑end engineering support to turn designs into prototype assemblies.
  • Collaborate and communicate relentlessly with engineering customers for clarification and progress updates.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Less than 2 years of relative experience in microelectronics assembly, basic electronics assembly tools such as wire bonding, soldering, and die attach.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Strong technical problem‑solving ability.
  • Knowledge in mechanical design.
  • Knowledge in circuit card manufacturing.
  • Experience in populating PCB.
  • Familiarity with advanced microelectronics assembly tools.
  • Project management.
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.

The salary range for this role is $57,200 – $108,800 USD. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs dependent on the level of the position and collective‑bargaining status.

This role is U.S. based.
