Weekend Principal Operations Quality Engineer – Radio Frequency Components Team
Position located in Andover, MA. Role requires a weekend schedule of three 12-hour shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) with an 8% shift differential for work from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and additional straight time within the week.
Responsibilities- Establish baseline factory metrics (scrap, rework, FPY, etc.), identify top drivers, forecast future demand, and identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
- Engage and support shop floor personnel and manufacturing defect prevention teams to ensure alignment on top priorities, using baseline data and future forecast.
- Drive compliance resolution, containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation within closed-loop process controls.
- Perform process walks, operator observations, and lead manufacturing team discussions to drive process enhancements that reduce variation.
- Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives (PFMEA, control plans, SPC, etc.) and perform verification/validation of improvements and efficiencies.
- Integrate product and process verifications such as first articles and audits throughout value stream processes to prevent quality escapes, optimize throughput, and assure on-time delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field and typically eight (8) years of related Quality Engineering experience.
- Experience in first article inspection reports (FAIRs), quality monitoring, and leading root-cause corrective actions for both short-term and long-term initiatives in a cross-functional matrixed environment.
- Experience in development and use of quality metrics that drive root cause and long-term corrective action, and in the identification and implementation of perceptive verifications.
- Manufacturing process knowledge with quality systems and industry technical standards (ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102), interpreting drawings, work instructions, BOMs, consumable materials control, process disciplines, and tool control.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Strong familiarity with J-STD-001, ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9201, Six Sigma, Customer-Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) or Lean experience/tools, and ASQ certifications.
- Previous experience with semiconductor manufacturing and working/handling products in a cleanroom environment.
- Ability to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g., 6-Sigma, lean manufacturing).
- Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/AS9145; utilizing tools such as PPAP, Key Characteristics, DFMEA, PFMEA, and/or Control Plans.
- Experience with SAP/PRISM or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools.
