Raytheon is seeking a Senior Manager of Operations Quality to join the Circuit Card Manufacturing (CCM) Team in Andover, MA. The Operations Quality Team ensures product and process quality with an emphasis on product compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. As a leader, you will manage a group of quality engineers and hardware specialists, monitor production performance, lead yield improvements, reduce cost of poor quality, support factory compliance with site policies, validate change control implementation, and more.
Whatyou will do
- Lead a team of operations quality engineers and hardware specialists, including staffing, coaching, mentoring, presenting to senior leadership, and conducting performance reviews.
- Maintain on‑site presence to collaborate with operations, engineering, quality, and program representatives in the factories.
- Ensure effective root‑cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Perform verification and validation of improvements to assess effectiveness.
- Establish baseline factory metrics (scrap, rework, first pass yield, etc.), identify top drivers, forecast demand, and identify improvement opportunities for nonconformity control and disposition.
- Analyze production trends using data analysis and statistical process control methods.
- Lead manufacturing team discussions to drive process enhancements that reduce variation.
- Lead and drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives (PFMEA, control plans, SPC, etc.) using baseline metrics and future demand, and validate improvements and efficiencies to prevent defects.
- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) or a related technical field and at least ten (10) years of experience in quality engineering, continuous improvement, or related fields.
- Previous people‑management experience and/or technical lead responsibilities across cross‑functional teams.
- Project management experience, including managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with first article inspection reports (FAIRs), quality monitoring, and leading root‑cause corrective actions for both short‑term and long‑term initiatives in a cross‑functional matrixed environment.
- Experience developing and using quality metrics to drive root‑cause analysis and long‑term corrective action.
- Manufacturing process knowledge with quality systems and industry technical standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, and/or AS9102), interpreting drawings, work instructions, BOMs, consumable materials control, process disciplines, and tool control.
- Prior experience in quality or process engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
- Strong familiarity with J‑STD‑001, ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9201, Six Sigma, Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE), Lean tools, and ASQ certifications.
- Ability to facilitate cross‑functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing).
- Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/AS9145 and tools such as PPAP, Key Characteristics, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans; familiarity with SAP/PRISM or other ERP tools.
- Experience with DoD product and process oversight, including requirements, build, integration, test, and delivery.
- Proficiency in Product/Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis and regression analysis.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Existing U.S. DoD Secret (or higher) clearance.
This Onsite position requires eligibility to obtain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
