This is a 4th shift position: 12-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6:00am-6:00pm; plus one 4-hour shift on either Monday or Thursday. An 8% shift differential is offered.
Responsibilities- Baseline factory metrics (Scrap, Rework, FPY, etc.), identify top drivers, forecast future demand for top drivers and identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
- Engage Manufacturing Defect Prevention Teams (DPT) to ensure alignment on top priorities (using baseline data and future forecast) to drive containment, Root Cause Analysis and associated Corrective Action Implementation.
- Perform process walks, operator observations, and lead MFG team discussions to drive process enhancements to reduce variation.
- Lead/Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives (PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, etc.) using baseline metrics and future demand.
- Identify supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and backflow to the Supplier Quality Management team.
- Integrate product and process verifications such as First Articles and audits throughout value stream processes to prevent quality escapes, optimize throughput and assure on-time delivery of products and services.
- Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field of study, and five (5) years related Quality Engineering experience.
- Manufacturing process experience in one of the following: assembly, inspection, test.
- Experience in identifying root cause and initiating/implementing effective short-term and long-term corrective actions.
- Experience in development/usage of Quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action, and in the identification/institution of perceptive verifications.
- Experience with industry technical standards, interpreting drawings, work instructions.
- U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance (DoD Secret security clearance).
- Demonstrated knowledge of key process characteristics and ability to implement effective process control techniques.
- Previous experience managing cross functional process improvement teams with technical expertise.
- Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
- Six Sigma, ASQ Certifications.
- Proficient in the use of pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping.
- Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (6-sigma, lean manufacturing).
- Existing US DoD Secret (or higher) clearance.
- Familiarity with GD&T and technical print reading.
- Knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, hardware installation, and structural assembly techniques.
Salary range: 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD.
