Responsibilities
As an Expert Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Automating infrastructure build‑out using infrastructure‑as‑code principles within the Azure Landing Zone.
- Answering technical questions related to Azure infrastructure.
- Coordinating with teams such as Network, DNS, and Active Directory during incidents.
- Contributing to root cause analysis documentation after major incidents.
- Proactively monitoring systems to detect potential issues.
- Creating alerts, Incident Response Plans and, where appropriate, automated remediation.
- Liaising with Microsoft Support when required.
- Addressing operational alerts from Microsoft regarding capacity, vulnerabilities, unexpected failures, etc.
- Cooperating with subscription owners to resolve errors.
- Scanning Azure Landing Zone subscriptions to identify gaps relative to Schneider Electric's security posture, including patch management.
- Working remotely up to 2 days per week, where eligible.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (foreign equivalent accepted).
- Progressive, post‑bachelor’s experience: 3 years with a Master’s or 5 years with a Bachelor’s in cloud infrastructure engineering or a related occupation.
- Experience in creating, managing, and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Experience automating deployment of software artifacts to cloud infrastructure using industry CI/CD tools.
- Experience engineering and operating IT infrastructure solutions on AWS and Azure.
- Proficiency with scripting and automation using Bash, Power Shell, or Python.
- Knowledge of cloud networking concepts, including macro and micro‑segmentation, Virtual Networks/VPCs, subnetting, route tables, VPN, Express Route/Direct Connect, IPsec, and load balancing.
- Experience using Azure Landing Zone (CAF) and governance modules.
- Relevant certifications: at least one of AZ‑104 Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, AZ‑700 Microsoft Azure Network Engineer Associate, or AZ‑305 Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
