Raytheon is seeking a motivated 1st shift Principal Electrical Engineer to fill key Maintenance, Repair and Engineering support role within the Metrology & Test Equipment Maintenance (MTEM) Department, located in Andover, MA.
Responsibilities- Spearhead root-cause analysis on complex, multi-platform automated test equipment (ATE) down to the component level across RF, digital, and AC/DC platforms using best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians on advanced RF, digital, and power system diagnostic techniques.
- Identify hardware retrofits and engineering changes to resolve systemic test equipment obsolescence and performance issues.
- Work with minimal supervision while maintaining test platforms to minimize station downtime.
- Interpret schematic drawings to aid troubleshooting of test stations and equipment.
- Document and maintain fault logs and generate repair documentation to minimize future troubleshoot efforts improving station uptime.
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- 5+ years of test equipment design or troubleshoot experience in RF.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Proven expertise in isolating intermittent failures across mixed-signal, high-speed digital, and power distribution architectures.
- Deep understanding of RF cascading parameters, impedance matching, and advanced test equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and power meters.
- Strong command of high-power AC/DC distribution, line conditioning, analog control loops, and safety interlock systems.
- Experience developing, editing, and improving preventative maintenance and calibration procedures, using intuitive techniques and methodologies.
- Experience with CORE principles, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Salary range: 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD.
