Position: Principal Test and Validation Engineer HWIC Arrays - CLEARANCE REQUIRED

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Arrays Production Test Engineer within the Hardware Integration Center (HWIC). The successful candidate will be a self‑starter who can achieve production test objectives in a matrixed environment and interface daily with Operations, Quality, and Engineering. In this highly visible role, you will lead all aspects of NFR testing for multiple programs, maintain the production schedule and deliverables, and react quickly to changes in priorities.

What

You Will Do
  • Lead, train, coach, and oversee an experienced team of NFR test engineers.
  • Resolve technical issues identified during NFR testing of production arrays.
  • Act as the key interface between HWIC Operations and HWIC Test Engineering.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities within the NFR test processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk, automate, and reduce cost using CORE principles and data‑driven decision making.
  • Manage staffing of test engineers across NFRs, including shift scheduling and weekend/holiday work as needed.
  • Interface with Design and Test Development teams to solve issues impacting production.
  • Assist manufacturing test operators in testing & troubleshooting of production hardware.
  • Actively participate in daily HWIC tier‑level meetings.
  • Participate and lead test data reviews with the customer.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and a minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • 3 years of test or integration experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued secret security clearance required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
We Prefer
  • Experience leading a team in a production environment.
  • Experience in antenna or radar test and analysis.
  • Experience in the integration and test of developed hardware.
  • Strong management skills, including ability to make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills with fine attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Hands‑on experience with microwave testing techniques, including spectrum and network analyzers for RF signal analysis.
  • Hands‑on experience with MATLAB and/or Excel for complex RF calculations and data analysis.
  • Test requirements interpretation, schematic diagram interpretation, knowledge of operating commercial test equipment for test and troubleshooting.
  • Proven written and oral communication, including presentation skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PPT, Project, Word), statistical evaluation tools (SPC, data distribution analysis) and shop‑floor tools (PRISM, PDM, CMES).
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
