Overview

This role is a leadership position that leads the Layout and Foundry Services team within the RF Microelectronics / Module Design & Foundry Services Department, supporting RFIC/MMIC designers and driving production tools in our own III‑V semiconductor foundry.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of highly skilled layout and CAD engineers, overseeing design support for RFIC/MMIC product development.
  • Create and maintain fully compliant layouts and photomasks using Cadence’s Virtuoso Tool Suite, adhering to engineering specifications.
  • Implement, maintain, and improve data management, verification (DRC, LVS), and automation processes to support an efficient design flow.
  • Ensure highest standards for layout data preparation, building reticles, and photomask procurement.
  • Perform data checks, documentation, and peer reviewing, communicating efficiently with design, production, process development, and modeling teams.
  • Manage team development and support department management and functional leadership levels.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
  • Minimum of eight years of relevant experience in semiconductor MMIC layout and CAD.
  • Experience in RFIC/MMIC layout, verification, and automation using the Cadence layout suite.
  • Experience preparing photomasks with process overhead structures and data generation for III‑V semiconductor foundry equipment.
  • Knowledge of III‑V semiconductor processing steps, RF device/circuit characterization, and automated inspection.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Cadence suite and integrated circuit layout and physical verification.
  • Experience with development and automation of layout tasks and associated software.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor processing and manufacturing concepts, e.g., GaAs, GaN, SOI.
  • Project scheduling and management experience.
  • Previous experience with a defense contractor or government agency.
  • Current DoD Secret level security clearance.
Benefits

Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD. Pay structure and benefits based on location.
