Electrical Engineer - Design, Estimating, Scheduling (Manager, Facilities)
LocationAndover, Massachusetts (and occasional support in Portsmouth, Rhode Island)
Position OverviewJoin the RTX Enterprise Services team as a Facilities Electrical Engineer responsible for electrical design, estimating, scheduling, and construction project management for office renovations, laboratory fit‑ups, and manufacturing equipment installations.
What You Will Do- Support facilities electrical design, electrical distribution, and construction project management.
- Perform project estimating, load sizing, coordination studies, arc flash studies, development of construction drawings, bid documents, and construction administration.
- Manage projects from design through bid cycle, construction, and close‑out.
- Prepare diagrams, sketches, construction drawings, cost estimates, bid documents, and construction administration.
- Meet with internal customers and coordinate with IT, safety, security, construction trade workers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Interface and coordinate projects with internal and external resources.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) and 8 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 5 years of experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in building electrical engineering, including high, medium, and low voltage, primary and secondary power, multi-frequency power, grounding solutions, load sizing, control systems, coordination studies, lighting and controls, and lightning protection.
- Experience in construction project management: customer scoping meetings, budget monitoring, schedule creation and update, contractor coordination, commissioning, and close‑out.
- Ability to write clear technical engineering specifications, reports, and operating procedures.
- Working knowledge of SKM short-circuit and arc-fault analysis and feeder/transformer sizing.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project Scheduler.
- Active professional engineering license/registration in Massachusetts or eligibility to obtain within 6 months.
- Excellent communication skills, including presenting to leadership, internal customers, IT, security, construction trade workers, and subcontractors.
- Familiarity with building electrical systems and building construction, coordinating electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, civil, IT, and security disciplines.
- Experience in facilities engineering, design and construction project management, and manufacturing facilities.
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and control systems such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, and Schneider Electric.
- Competitive salary range $107,500 - $204,500.
