Principal Semiconductor Foundry Engineer – III‑V Foundry
Location:
Andover, MA (Onsite). The role is part of the RF Microelectronics/Module Development & Foundry Services department, focusing on compound semiconductor devices and microwave/millimeter‑wave integrated circuits for defense applications.
- Work frequently on the foundry floor and collaborate with process engineering, equipment engineering, digital technologies, quality, facilities, and operations teams.
- Sustain current production processes and participate in the development of new processes.
- Review in‑line electrical data trends and process control metrics.
- Investigate scrap and rework events using root‑cause tools and approaches.
- Maintain technical documentation, including recipes, out‑of‑control action plans, and FMEAs.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and manipulate large datasets using statistical analysis to define SPC controls.
- Manage yield improvement and RCCA efforts supporting the production line.
- Support capital qualification efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree plus 3 years of experience.
- Experience in semiconductor processing techniques such as photolithography, dielectric deposition, metal evaporation, etch processes, and/or optical or scanning electron microscope inspections.
- U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance after employment.
- Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., JMP, Minitab, R, SPSS, MATLAB).
- Knowledge of semiconductor device performance and reliability characterization.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC).
- Broad knowledge of semiconductor processing, device physics, and data analysis.
- Experience troubleshooting fabrication equipment and establishing qualification and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Experience with GaAs (Gallium Arsenide) and GaN (Gallium Nitride).
- Proficiency in data analysis packages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, SQL, JMP).
- Excellent communication skills for effective idea transfer.
- Competitive salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD.
