Test Engineer, Systems Engineer
The Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to plan and execute complex integration and verification test events. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge missile defense technologies in a collaborative and innovative environment.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration activities, and verification in both simulated and real‑world environments.
- Generate technical reports documenting findings through data analysis.
- Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through real‑time monitoring, detailed analysis, and debugging.
- Collaborate across functions to track metrics, document lessons learned, and drive performance improvements.
- Utilize and create modeling and simulation tools to predict system performance and support verification and validation.
- Work with a multi‑disciplinary team to achieve seamless integration and system functionality.
- Develop integration documentation, execute plans, analyze data, verify requirements, and effectively communicate results to Program Management Office (PMO) and System Integration & Test (SI&T) leadership and stakeholders.
- Travel as needed (up to 10%) to support mission execution at various locations, including local RTX facilities, test sites, or lead range support teams from Andover.
- Must Have:
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with systems software, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, and system testing.
- Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, JavaScript, C/C++, and/or other programming languages.
- Preferred:
- Experience generating technical documentation such as test plans, procedures, or technical reports.
- Experience in developing and managing requirements, and familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS or equivalent) and configuration control practices.
- Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, and in the field supporting integration and/or verification.
- Knowledge of radar systems and properties, including signal processing, clutter rejection, Doppler, antenna properties, and pulse characteristics.
- Experience evaluating systems using simulated environments.
