At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.
An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon for an engineering manager to join our semiconductor foundry engineering leadership team within the RF Microelectronics / Module Design and Foundry Services Department. The Sr. Section Lead – Semiconductor Process Integration and Yield will direct a group of skilled process integration and yield engineers to fabricate advanced microelectronic devices in accordance with various technologies in support of Raytheon Technologies business products.
These technologies consist of mature processes and products as well as ones undergoing technology demonstration, transition to production and low‑rate initial production.
The ideal candidate will have experience in III‑V semiconductor processing, preferably in GaAs, GaN or GaSb. They will review and oversee project schedules and cost, determine team priorities, review process changes, identify and champion process improvement opportunities, work to improve process yields, and interface with operations management. They will facilitate the effective allocation of team resources to support the oversight of the foundry processes, assist in identifying program and development funding needs, and foster open communication between functional teams.
Presence on the foundry floor is essential for understanding technical and logistical issues. The role requires a large degree of multitasking with attention to detail while managing priorities depending on the nature of the problems and the commitments to customers and programs.
The candidate should also have Cost Account Manager experience and/or Task Leadership experience. They will work with the department manager on manpower and resource planning, controlling overhead costs, developing and delivering employee performance reviews, and developing/reviewing proposals. Also, support to management at the Hardware Engineering leadership level and the engineering level is required. Perhaps most importantly, the candidate must have a willingness to relate to and support the needs of their employees.
The section leader will have a sphere of up to 20 employees who will depend on the section lead to help guide their careers and to maximize their potential and effectiveness.
