Job Summary
Sr. Process Development Engineer – III‑V process development for gallium nitride‑based devices and III‑V focal plane array fabrication within the Microelectronics/Module Design & Foundry Services Department. Responsible for process development, sustainment, yield improvement, new process and technology discriminators in a III‑V semiconductor wafer foundry. 100% on‑site, located in Andover, MA.
Responsibilities- Processing wafers to create FETs, MMICs, and FPAs in a cleanroom environment.
- Work well in small, cross‑functional teams and pursue contract R&D.
- Assist in transitioning processes into production.
- Manage small projects or processes within area of responsibility.
- Work autonomously with limited oversight.
- Provide input or guidance to lower‑level professionals.
- Influence policies, practices, and procedures.
- Communicate with parties within and outside the department, including customers and vendors.
- Develop proof‑of‑concept demonstrations of novel semiconductor processes and identify yield and process improvement opportunities.
- Gather sponsorship and team resources and execute continuous improvement activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 5years of experience in semiconductor processing techniques such as photolithography, dry etching, metal evaporation, and optical or scanning electron microscope inspections.
- Master’s degree in STEM with 3years of experience, or Ph.D. in STEM.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret).
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in STEM.
- Experience troubleshooting fabrication equipment and establishing qualification and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Experience with statistical process control and lean manufacturing methods (e.g., Six Sigma).
- Experience in semiconductor device physics and data analysis.
- Proficiency with data analysis software (MATLAB, Python, SQL, JMP).
- Ability to collaborate and lead cross‑functional technical projects.
- Experience characterizing and improving semiconductor device performance and reliability.
U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Existing clearance required from day

- Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD.
