We are seeking an experienced Principal Semiconductor Foundry Engineer to join our III‑V foundry team in the RF Microelectronics/Module Development & Foundry Services department at Raytheon in Andover, MA. This department designs, manufactures, and tests compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter‑wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.

The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of semiconductor tools, processing techniques, and microelectronic circuit testing. Responsibilities include supporting and executing process development, process sustainment, product yield improvement, new process development, and technology differentiation in a III‑V wafer foundry. Presence on the foundry floor is essential.

• Frequently work on the foundry floor and collaborate with process engineering, equipment engineering, digital technologies, quality, facilities, and operations teams.
• Sustain production processes and contribute to development of new processes.
• Review inline electrical data trends and process control metrics.
• Investigate scrap and rework events using root‑cause tools and approaches.
• Maintain technical documentation (recipes, out‑of‑control action plans, FMEAs).
• Identify process improvement opportunities.
• Manipulate large datasets and apply statistical analysis to define SPC controls, manage projects, and assign risk.
• Manage yield improvement and RCCA efforts supporting the production line.
• Support capital qualification efforts.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.
• Experience with semiconductor processing techniques such as photolithography, dielectric deposition, metal evaporation, etch processes, and/or optical/SEM inspections.
• U.S. citizenship required with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

• Experience with statistical analysis software (JMP, Minitab, R, SPSS, MATLAB).
• Experience characterizing, understanding, and improving semiconductor device performance and reliability.
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC).
• Broad knowledge of semiconductor processing, device physics, and data analysis.
• Experience troubleshooting fabrication equipment, establishing qualification and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Experience with GaAs and GaN.
• Experience with data analysis software packages (MATLAB, Python, SQL, JMP).
• Excellent communication skills to transfer ideas effectively.
