If you want to shape the future of energy, we are looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our O&M team!
Who you will work withThe Principal Electrical Engineer will provide technical expertise related to electrical design and performance of renewables plants in USA and Canada. In support and cooperation with other internal departments, service providers and equipment manufacturers, the role will ensure technical support to electrical, power systems and grid interconnection topics, for renewable plants under execution, operation as well as M&A acquisitions, in compliance with industry best practices, quality, safety and environmental requirements, as well as compliance with schedules and costs, also managing external resources.
Whatyou will do
- Provide technical expertise in Due Diligences, Feasibility Studies, Design for Permitting and Detailed Design (shop drawings, IFC drawings) for renewable power plants (wind, solar, storage).
- Peer review and quality control of grid connection and electrical design related drawings and reports for Due Diligence, Feasibility Studies, Design for Permitting and Detailed Design (shop drawings and IFC drawings).
- Provide technical support and guidance to other units within the Organization for assuring the quality of the construction, commissioning and operations of renewable power plants (wind, solar and storage).
- Develop, create and update on a regular basis the technical specifications to be used for any RFPs to be issued by the Organization - related to own field of expertise.
- Elaborate reports, analysis and subject matter expert analysis for market and NERC compliance related activities, request for information and submissions.
- Mentor, coach and support other T&GC team members and be the echelon for electrical engineering matters for the USA and Canada perimeter.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, master's degree is preferred.
- PE certification is preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in engineering of electrical power systems related fields.
- 7+ years of experience in power systems design.
- 5+ years of experience in designing renewable energy systems.
- Deep knowledge of the electricity sector and interconnection requirements of renewables plants.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance framework pertaining power generation plants.
- Experience in construction and/or commissioning and/or operations in power systems.
- Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance related to LV, MV and HV systems.
- Knowledge of informatics:
AutoCAD, Power system simulations software (PSSE, DigSILENT, PSCAD, NEPLAN, etc.). - Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office:
Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. - Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively support and work well with people from different departments and industry backgrounds.
- Ability to work within a global framework and a matrix organization.
- Innovation and Sustainable thinking.
- Ability to work in autonomy for complex tasks and in multiple projects under pressure.
- Advanced time management and planning skills with ability to review, compile and track project documentation.
- Must be available for domestic and international travel for meetings and for on-site support.
- A valid driver's license operable in all 50 states and Canada.
The pay range for this position is $ - $ annually. The base pay actually offered will be based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, work experience, education, and internal equity.
