In this role, you will be expected to blend spatial awareness, architectural logic, and technical problem‑solving to build rich, immersive worlds that support both narrative and gameplay mechanics.
Key Responsibilities as Environment Artist- Build, texture, and map a wide array of highly realistic 3D art assets used to enrich and populate complex in‑game environments.
- Generate procedural 2D and 3D art assets utilizing traditional modeling packages alongside node‑based procedural pipelines.
- Interpret, adapt to, and execute a diverse range of artistic styles and visual targets while maintaining Rockstar’s strict standards for quality and aesthetic cohesion.
- Participate actively in research and development (R&D) cycles to discover innovative artistic solutions to complex technical constraints.
- Problem‑solve optimization challenges, ensuring that high‑fidelity visual assets perform smoothly within real‑time game engine budgets.
- Stay continuously informed on emerging methodologies, software updates, and hardware capabilities related to modern 3D art development.
- Proactively seek out constructive feedback from Art Leads, Technical Directors, and Creative Directors, applying it iterate‑by‑iterate to refine world spaces.
- Communicate production timelines, potential bottlenecks, and asset delivery schedules effectively within a multi‑disciplinary development team.
- Collaborate with technical artists and engine programmers to refine internal tools and optimize world‑building workflows.

Experience:
3+ years of professional experience operating as a 3D Artist specifically within the video game industry or a closely related real‑time 3D production field. - Artistic Flair: Exceptional environment art creation skills, with a deep understanding of composition, architectural scale, organic form, and lighting principles.
- Procedural Mastery: Practical, hands‑on experience utilizing Houdini accompanied by a functional working knowledge of VEX syntax for procedural asset generation and distribution.
