Business Systems Analyst

Alexander Technology Group is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to play a critical role in bridging business needs and technical solutions. This individual will be heavily involved in writing detailed user stories, participating in Program Increment (PI) planning, and partnering with cross‑functional teams to ensure clear, actionable requirements that drive successful delivery. This is a senior‑level role requiring strong technical acumen, experience with APIs and scripting, and the ability to perform thorough impact analysis across systems and processes.

Prior or current experience as a Product Owner is nice to have.

This is an onsite position.

• Lead the creation, refinement, and management of detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into functional and technical requirements
• Actively participate in PI planning, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical implementation
• Serve as a liaison between business teams, product, and engineering

• Perform impact analysis to assess downstream effects of changes across systems, integrations, and workflows
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define solution approaches and technical requirements
• Support API integrations by documenting data flows, endpoints, and system interactions
• Utilize scripting knowledge to support data analysis, troubleshooting, and validation efforts
• Identify risks, dependencies, and constraints early in the project lifecycle

• Facilitate discussions to clarify requirements and drive decision‑making
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
• Support testing efforts by validating that delivered solutions meet business intent
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and documentation standards

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in an Agile environment
• Prior or current experience serving as a Product Owner
• Strong experience writing detailed user stories and acceptance criteria
• Hands‑on involvement in PI planning and Agile ceremonies
• Technical acumen with the ability to engage in architecture and integration discussions
• Experience working with APIs, including documenting integrations and data flows
• Scripting experience (e.g., SQL, Python, or similar) for analysis and validation
• Proven ability to perform impact analysis across multiple systems
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Experience working in complex enterprise environments
• Familiarity with system integration and data mapping concepts
• Experience collaborating closely with engineering and Dev Ops teams
• Agile certifications (e.g., CSPO, SAFe, or similar)

Contract to hire - $55hr - $65hr
