What You Will Do- Manage and optimize the server infrastructure in a heterogeneous information system.
- Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hard Enterprise Linux environment.
- Lead a team of System Administrators to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of IT systems and applications within their assigned section.
- Provide leadership to support a varied range of administrative tasking, including corrective/preventive maintenance, recurring operations functions, account management, and system optimization.
- Guide administrators whose duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system-wide software and allocating mass storage space.
- Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
- Participate in Change Request reviews, including participation in Change Management boards at multiple program levels.
- Coordinate technical and process document reviews and resolve system administration, engineering, and integration issues.
- Lead and participate in technical meetings with team members and other program personnel, representing the organization in functional area matters.
- Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
- Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
- Travel is required to other U.S. Domestic locations as business needs dictate. Up to 10% per year.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- An active and transferable U.S. Secret Clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience as a Linux System Administrator.
- Experience with at least two of the following technologies: VMware, Kubernetes, Open Shift, Podman, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Ansible), Windows administration.
- Experience in patch management, OS upgrades, computer security, system monitoring and logging.
- Experience with Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems.
- Experience with Net App and Veeam.
- Experience with requirements gathering, planning, and managing deployment, installation, maintenance and upgrade efforts across multiple geographic sites.
- Experience managing IT services and support in a 24/7 real-time operational environment.
- Experience with Linux/Windows scripting.
- Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD.
