We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to support, maintain, and enhance our Warehouse Management System (WMS) built in Open Basic. This role is responsible for troubleshooting production issues, developing new functionality, improving integrations, and working closely with warehouse operations, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure the system supports efficient receiving, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities- Support and maintain the existing WMS application written in Open Basic.
- Diagnose and resolve application, data, and interface issues in a production warehouse environment.
- Develop, test, and deploy enhancements, bug fixes, and customization's to support warehouse operations.
- Work with users and operational teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Support core warehouse workflows such as receiving, put-away, replenishment, inventory management, picking, packing, shipping, and cycle counting.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements for reliability, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Create and maintain system documentation, technical specifications, and support procedures.
- Support integrations with ERP systems, scanners, label printing, EDI, shipping systems, and related applications where applicable.
- Assist with report development, queries, and operational data analysis.
- Participate in testing, release management, and production support, including after-hours support when needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including warehouse operations, business analysts, infrastructure teams, vendors, and other developers.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience developing or supporting applications in Open Basic is a plus.
- Experience supporting Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or other supply chain / logistics applications.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills in a live operational environment.
- Understanding of warehouse and distribution processes, inventory transactions, and fulfillment workflows.
- Experience with relational databases, data queries, and system interfaces.
- Ability to analyze user requirements and implement practical, supportable solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience with legacy business systems and modernization or migration projects.
- Familiarity with ERP/WMS integrations, EDI transactions, barcode/RF devices, and warehouse automation interfaces.
- Experience with reporting tools, SQL, or data extraction for operational reporting.
- Knowledge of software testing, release management, and production support practices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software. (Word, Excel)
- Experience working directly with warehouse users and operations leadership.
- Open Basic programming and application support is a plus
- WMS configuration, customization, and troubleshooting
- SQL / database querying is a plus
- System integration and interface support
- Version control and change management practices
