Principal System Administrator- sponsor clearance and three locations

Principal System Administrator Floater – Tewksbury, MA / Woburn, MA / Andover, MA

Full‑time, 100% onsite position in a DoD closed‑area environment. Supports multiple programs across three locations. Requires an interim U.S. government‑issued security clearance to start and U.S. citizenship.

• Design, implement, maintain, patch, and troubleshoot Linux (RHEL 7/8/9) and Windows (Server, 11) environments in a 24x7x365 mission‑critical setting.
• Apply vulnerability remediation and compliance activities – STIG/EVAL, SCAP/ACAS, log collection – and coordinate with Cyber Security teams to keep DoD and regulatory standards met.
• Deploy and maintain virtual infrastructure using VMware ESXi/vCenter, including VM lifecycle management, host upgrades, performance tuning, and production workload support.
• Develop enterprise imaging, deployment, and automation solutions (MECM/SCCM, PXE, Windows imaging, in‑place OS upgrades) with Power Shell and automation frameworks.
• Administer core Windows services and integrations:
  Active Directory, Group Policy, secure system configurations, certificate‑based authentication, and customized user environments.
• Collaborate with Digital Technology, Engineering, Cyber Security, Dev Sec Ops , Networking, Storage, and Tools teams to resolve complex infrastructure and compliance challenges.
• Provide planned and emergent operational support, including occasional after‑hours work and up to 10% travel.
• Prioritize competing demands and execute tasks with minimal oversight in a fast‑paced environment.

• Must be U.S. citizen.
• Must obtain an interim U.S. government‑issued secret security clearance before start.
• Knowledge of DoD security processes and the ability to maintain and renew clearance is required.

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Administering and securing Windows and RHEL servers.
• Experience with VMware virtualization.
• Experience in securing system configurations and system hardening.
• Power Shell scripting expertise.

• Technical SME or primary point of contact for patching, vulnerability remediation, or compliance initiatives.
• Hands‑on experience with MECM/SCCM, PXE boot services, OS imaging, and automated software deployment frameworks.
• Familiarity with Net App storage and/or HPC environments.
• Experience with enterprise Windows services, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity integration.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity and compliance tooling: ACAS, SCAP, Splunk, STIG Viewer, audit support processes.
• Experience supporting or integrating with Dev Sec Ops  environments (Kubernetes, Rancher, artifact repositories).
• Experience with SQL Server, including clustered configurations.
• Prior experience supporting DoD, defense, or highly regulated environments.
• Relocation eligible.

USD 86,800 – 165,200 per year.
