Material Program Manager – Land & Air Defense System 24/7 Operations
RTX, a global aerospace and defense company, seeks a self‑starter with project‑management expertise to serve as the Material Program Manager (MPM) for our Land & Air Defense System 24/7 operations team. The position is hybrid, based in Andover, MA, and requires close collaboration with program managers, Integrated Product Teams (IPT), and supply‑chain leads.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate and translate customer and product requirements to suppliers.
- Conduct supplier engagements focused on capability, capacity, opportunity, and risk.
- Monitor and report supply‑chain performance metrics, proactively managing issues that affect kit availability, on‑time delivery to MRP, and on‑hold purchase requisitions.
- Support recurring supplier, program, and IPT reviews, providing visibility of procurement plans and escalating supply‑chain issues.
- Develop and execute Risk & Opportunity (R&O) and sales plans to meet the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and program responsibilities; manage mitigation plans.
- Manage budgets for all bought parts and supply‑chain labor in support of the Estimate at Completion (EAC) process.
- Support prime proposals and program start‑up, including the development and execution of Material Product Strategies (MPS) and Plans (MPP).
- Manage material demands, procurements, receipts, movements, and final delivery to customer or field personnel.
- Make significant progress toward obtaining MPM certification within 12 months of hire.
- University degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Experience with SAP or PRISM.
- U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).
- Strong project‑management skills, including risk and opportunity management, supplier management, and cross‑functional team collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation), leadership ability, and the ability to work in an IPT environment.
- Excellent time‑management skills and the ability to prioritize numerous tasks.
- Supply‑chain experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Experience implementing continuous‑improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean.
- Self‑starter capable of achieving organizational and program objectives and interfacing with all levels of internal management.
- Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD.
