Maintenance Technician – Bodycote
Bodycote invites applications for the Maintenance Technician position in Andover, MA.
Bodycote is safety-sensitive. The role works in an industrial environment, managing equipment, facilities, and vehicles to minimize downtime, improve quality, increase efficiency, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Essential Job Functions- Implement the facility’s preventative maintenance program.
- Conduct scheduled inspections of fluid levels, water flows, quench oils, filters, washer SOA, and similar items; notify supervisor of issues as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment in the Maintenance Department work area; promptly clean up after maintenance and repair work is completed within the facility.
- Assist in equipment performance testing per company‑wide and manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Perform corrective actions required for out‑of‑specification conditions as directed by the supervisor.
- Assist in analytical troubleshooting of issues to maintain equipment, facilities, and vehicles.
- Accurately record and document all completed maintenance, modifications, and repairs.
- Maintain shop copies of manuals and blueprints in a neat and organized manner; provide others with updated information as required.
- Run company errands and pick up equipment, materials, and supplies as required.
- Operate company vehicles safely and courteously.
- Promptly report observed equipment, facility, and vehicle repair or maintenance needs to supervisor.
- Make suggestions for changes that would help the facility achieve improved efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Assist in maintaining the inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts.
- This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and, as such, will perform duties safely and responsibly to prevent customer loss or damage.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co‑workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- College or technical degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred; high school diploma or equivalent plus 3‑5 years industrial maintenance experience required.
- Hands‑on experience and expertise with thermal coupling.
- Troubleshooting skills with mechanical equipment and analytical ability.
- Knowledge and hands‑on experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and databases.
- Effective team member with good communication and cooperation to meet plant goals.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; excellent multi‑tasking and ability to prioritize workflow.
- Active participation in team meetings to work on problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
- Basic maintenance or industrial tools.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
- Work in an industrial environment at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and reach.
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.
- Cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.

- Work schedule:
