Etch Section Lead – Semiconductor Fab

Raytheon seeks an Etch Section Lead to join the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department’s semiconductor foundry engineering leadership team. The role leads etch process engineers to fabricate advanced micro‑electronic devices across technology roadmaps in 24/7 foundry environments, overseeing process improvements, project oversight, cost control, and workforce planning.

• Lead a team of etch engineers supporting 24/7 foundry operation
• Drive technical strategy for Etch (Dry Etch, Wet Etch, Wet Clean, Electroplating) processes within the foundry
• Review process changes, champion improvement opportunities, improve process yields, and interface with operations management
• Manage project schedules and costs, drive capital acquisition and qualification, and execute development activities for the foundry
• Allocate team resources, identify capital investment needs, and foster open communication between functional teams
• Partner with the department manager on manpower and resource planning, control overhead costs, deliver employee performance reviews, and develop/review proposals
• Support management at the department, directorate, and functional leadership levels

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field
• 10+ years of experience with semiconductor processing or process integration (advanced STEM degree may count for 3 years)
• Must be eligible for DoD Secret clearance and must be U.S. citizen

• Master’s degree or PhD in STEM field
• Experience with GaAs, GaN, or GaSb semiconductor processes
• Leadership experience driving teams in a high‑paced environment
• Deep knowledge of Dry Etch, Electroplating, Wet Etch, and Wet Clean processes
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) software
• Knowledge of root‑cause analysis techniques
• Strong analytical, communication, and customer‑focus skills
• Project scheduling and management experience
• Experience with defense contractor or governmental agency preferred
• Current DoD Secret clearance

• Salary range: $107,500 USD – $204,500 USD
