Sheet Metal Operator B – Andover, MA (3rd Shift, 10:00PM–6:30AM)

US‑MA‑AN3 354 Lowell St, Andover, MA | Starting Wage: $31.74 /hr | Shift: 3rd Shift (10PM–6:30AM)
- Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of the workplace, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain records, move materials, and follow all safety rules during duties.
- Use precision measuring equipment to perform non‑FAIR inspections on parts and assemblies.
- Set up, lay out, fabricate, construct, and assemble complex experimental, developmental, and production sheet metal parts with intricate bends, holes, and angular tolerances.
- Calculate complex angles, lengths, bends, and odd‑shaped parts using geometry, trigonometry, and shop mathematics, including weld shrinkage.
- Set up and operate CNC and manually controlled equipment, improvise tooling, fixtures, and templates as required.
- Perform intricate bench work such as filing, grinding, buffing, and rework of sheet metal units received from vendors.
- Collaborate with work teams, fabrication and manufacturing engineers, NC programmers, and quality control personnel to solve field‑specific problems.
- Advance or retrieve product, material, and tooling for self and colleagues.
- CNC equipment
- Sheet metal machinery: shears, brakes, punch presses, dies, arbor presses, drilling and tapping tools, notchers, saws, sanders, grinders, buffing equipment
- Rivet‑setting equipment, spotwelders, soldering equipment, vises, reamers, counterbores, countersinks, fly cutters, rivet sets, punches
- Annealing and stress‑relieving equipment
- Precision inspection measuring equipment, including CMMs
- All hardware installation tools and typical shop hand tools
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year but up to 2 years of trades training in sheet metal work.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication.
- U.S. citizenship required (as access to program information is restricted to U.S. citizens).
- Must pass a technical interview.
- Competitive hourly wage, starting at $31.74/hr.
