Production Manager
Overview
A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Production Supervisor at MKS Inc, you will develop and implement activities in the production area(s) to meet production goals, quality standards, and cost objectives. You will prioritize production schedules based on product introductions, equipment efficiency, material supply, sales forecasts, and ramp planning. You will plan and administer procedures and budgets, make budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and labor, and select and develop personnel to ensure efficient operation of the production function.
You will report to the Production Manager and work the second shift (3:30PM–midnight, Monday through Friday).
- Prioritize production schedules to meet product introduction and ramp planning goals.
- Plan and administer procedures, budgets, and capital expenditures.
- Select, develop, and supervise personnel to ensure efficient operation of the production function.
- Develop schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.
- Provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
- Administer company policies that directly affect subordinate employees.
- Recommend changes to unit or sub‑unit policies and review work to measure meeting of objectives.
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.
- Act as advisor to unit or sub‑units and become actively involved to meet schedules and resolve problems.
- Create a capacity staffing model and manage factory performance, annual reviews, goals, and staffing decisions.
- Ensure compliance with all manufacturing processes, procedures, and protocols.
- Schedule and facilitate daily production meetings to prioritize workflow in fabrication, assembly, and test cells.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving priorities with the logistics department.
- Ensure all tools are calibrated according to the calibration schedule.
- Bachelor’s degree required or 3–5years of related experience.
- Ability to direct and supervise production and team leaders.
- Experience with time and attendance management and scheduling.
- Strong problem‑resolution skills in process, technical, material, personnel, and cross‑functional contexts.
- Primary escalation point for personnel, supply, or quality issues.
- Ability to identify material shortages and coordinate expediting with Purchasing and Planning.
- Capability to recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Support implementation and maintenance of 6S and Lean activities across operations.
- Help define and implement standard operating procedures and workmanship standards.
- Experience training and coaching employees on job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Develop capacity plans based on demand and forecast to drive staffing and facilities.
- Drive continual improvement programs focusing on quality, efficiency, cycle time, first pass yield, scrap, and labor metrics.
Activities include sitting, standing, and typing for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50lbs, occasionally move or position objects of similar weight, and handle objects at various heights. Requires good manual dexterity and coordination, clear communication, and frequent use of computers and office productivity equipment. Noise level is typically average.
Compensation & BenefitsPay range: $71,025.00 – (based on qualifications, experience, and other factors). Eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
