Position
Material Handler – Urgent Need
LocationAndover, MA
Duration3 Months Contract
Hours / Shift40 hours per week, 1st Shift 7AM - 4PM
Description- Uses a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products or goods within a plant, office, or warehouse.
- May maintain records and develops skills in basic tasks, techniques, and procedures within one skill area, process, or method.
- Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps.
- Works within clearly defined SOPs and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines.
- Works under general to limited supervision and holds a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Zero (0) to one (1) year warehouse experience or related experience and/or training.
- Primarily manual labor—unloading trucks and stacking pallets under 25 lbs (some weigh less than 5 lbs).
- Must verify labels on boxes and match to pallets. Attention to detail is essential. Scanning experience needed.
- Stand‑up forklift experience required.
- Obtain and/or maintain appropriate licenses, training, and certifications as needed.
- Has basic skills training in an analytical/scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics, manufacturing production).
- Effective communication skills at a level that co‑workers and Team Lead/Supervisor can understand.
- Ability to read, write, interpret, and comprehend documents written in English and perform basic math calculations. Ability to operate in a metrics‑driven environment. General computer skills.

- While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, climbing, lifting, crouching, reaching, pulling, pushing, grasping, talking, hearing, twisting, and frequent use of hands to finger, handle, feel, pick, or type, which may include repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, or fingers.
- The job can require lifting and/or moving over 50 lbs.
- The position will have exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, extreme weather conditions, and vibration.
- Occasionally the position will have exposure to work in high, precarious places and fumes/airborne particles.
- It is hot in the summer months (no AC) and cold in the winter months (limited heating). The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
