Our team in Andover, MA is seeking a Hardware Quality Specialist with hands‑on hardware quality inspection experience to join the Operations Quality Team. This is a day‑shift onsite position on a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off). The candidate will work primarily at the mentioned location.
What You Will Do- Inspect product to be in compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620, JSTD-001, and MIL-HDBK-454 specifications.
- Handle non‑conformance and disposition of non‑conforming material on the floor.
- Provide walk‑back feedback to assemblers and inspectors when findings occur to reduce recurrence of escapes.
- Participate in MFG DPT (Defect Prevention Team) meetings to align priority actions using baseline data and forecast to drive containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Perform process audits, process walks, operator observations, and join MFG team discussions to drive process enhancements that reduce variation.
- Identify supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and back‑flow to the Supplier Quality Management team.
- Verify and validate improvement effectiveness.
- Typically requires an AAA/AS degree (or other 2-year post‑high‑school training) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Relevant experience working with manufacturing processes (assembly, inspection, and/or test).
- Experience reading technical documentation, technical data packages, and/or work instructions.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility.
- Experience with IPC/WHMA-A-620, JSTD-001, and MIL-HDBK-454.
- Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
- Six Sigma, ASQ Certifications.
- Proficiency in pareto analysis, cause‑effect diagrams, process mapping.
- Ability to facilitate cross‑functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g., 6‑sigma, lean manufacturing).
Salary range: $60,000 – $114,000 USD (representative of all experience levels). Eligibility for benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Benefits are dependent on the specific business unit and collective‑bargaining agreement. Annual incentive compensation possible at certain levels.
