Sheet Metal Operator B- 3rd Shift

Location:

US-MA-ANDOVER-AN3 ~ 354 Lowell St ~ AN3 SUFFOLK BLDG.

Salary and Shift: Starting wage $31.74. 3rd Shift – 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM, onsite.

Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required.

• Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of workplace, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain records, move materials, and follow safety rules in the performance of duties.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment to perform non‑FAIR inspections on parts and assemblies.
• Perform other similar duties as required or directed.
• Work from oral and written instructions, engineering sketches, prints, video and computer instructions.
• Set up, lay out, fabricate, construct, and assemble a wide range of complex experimental, developmental, and production sheet metal parts, including complicated bends, interrelated holes, and tight angular tolerances.
• Calculate complex angles, lengths, bends, and odd‑shaped parts using geometry, trigonometry, and shop mathematics, including weld shrinkage.
• Set up and operate all machines and equipment, improvising tooling, fixtures, and templates as required.
• Perform intricate bench work such as filing, grinding and buffing to fit parts and achieve desired finish.
• Perform all rework on sheet metal units received from vendors.
• Interface with support personnel (work teams, fabrication and manufacturing engineers, NC programmers, and quality control personnel) to address and solve problems.
• Advances or retrieves product, material, and tooling for self and others.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Over 1 year and up to 2 years of trades training in sheet metal work.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sheet metal fabrication.
• Must pass a technical interview.
