Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They provide engineering and manufacturing support expertise to enable on‑time, lowest‑cost hardware delivery that exceeds customer expectations. Engineering work spans all program phases—from proposal capture and process development to transition to production and production support—and involves collaborating with the value stream team to design, control, and improve manufacturing processes and system design.

Key focus areas include reducing cycle time, cost, and ergonomic risk while maintaining high safety and product quality.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and review Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, and tool and fixture designs.
  • Support a manufacturing area as part of a cross‑functional team by guiding the production team through process troubleshooting and incorporating engineering changes into the MDP.
  • Disposition non‑conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement through data‑driven process improvements that reduce cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, and reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using CORE principles.
  • Provide real‑time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators, both in‑house and at the supply base.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
  • Minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government–issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE) and/or simulation tools.
  • Experience designing, programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated tooling and machinery.
  • Experience with military and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with standard material handling practices, especially as they pertain to Electrostatic Discharge mitigation requirements.
  • Active DoD security clearance.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, etc.).
  • Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Self‑motivated and results‑oriented individual with the ability to work in a team environment and with minimal direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines.
  • Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement and keeps pace with advances in technology.
  • Excellent organizational skills with fine attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Benefits

  • 401(k) match.
  • Flexible spending accounts.
  • Flexible work schedules.
  • Employee assistance program.
  • Employee Scholar Program.
  • Parental leave.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
