Manufacturing Engineer, 3rd Shift (3D Metal Parts)
Location:
Andover, MA (Lowell St, AN3 SUFFOLK BLDG) – Onsite
Security Clearance:
DoD Confidential – U.S. citizenship required.
Translate engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation, including raw material definition, fixturing and tooling development, CNC programming, inspection planning, finishing requirements, and assembly instructions.
Support process improvements using data analysis, best practices, and innovative solutions to improve process capability and reduce cost.
Design, control and improve manufacturing process through collaboration with a multi‑disciplined team.
Develop processes for new product introductions with accelerated time to market.
Optimize CNC programs using machining modeling and analysis tools, and integrate automated solutions for part handling and in‑machine work holding.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and document standard methodologies and standard work for CNC machining.
Review metrology and statistical process control data to identify and address potential defects before they occur.
Validate NC programs using CGTech Vericut and Cimco Edit.
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues with Quality and Operations personnel, applying CORE/6‑sigma methods to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of high‑speed machining techniques, cutting tools, and CNC machine tool capabilities.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings including GDT.
- U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
- CNC programming experience for 4+ axis machines preferred.
- ICAM post‑processor development experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Creo CAD/CAM Software.
- Familiarity with paint, plating, and structural assembly processes.
- Hands‑on mechanical aptitude and experience applying CORE principles.
- Active DoD Security Clearance preferred.
