POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Marketing and Communications is a high-impact leadership role within the Institutional Advancement and Enrollment (IAE) team. This individual leads the strategy and execution of all internal and external communications to drive enrollment, support fundraising, and strengthen the school’s brand. Pike seeks an innovative, collaborative, and entrepreneurial leader who can translate the School's distinctive strengths into compelling narratives that inspire prospective families, engage alumni and donors and strengthen community pride.
Marketing & Digital Strategy
Enrollment & Recruitment: Partner with Admission to build and execute multi-channel campaigns (digital ads, print collateral, recruitment drives) that highlight Pike to prospective families.Digital Media & Advertising: Manage the daily operations and growth of the website (Finalsite) and social channels (Instagram, Facebook, Linked In); collaborate with external partners on digital advertising.Reputation & Review Management: Maintain Pike’s profile across external school review sites (Google, Niche, Great Schools etc.).Event Marketing: Lead promotional strategy, digital assets, signage, and collateral for key institutional events (Commencement, One Pike Day, Centennial, and Auxiliary Programs).Communications & Editorial
Messaging & Calendar: Maintain the master communications calendar to drive a consistent cadence for all internal (faculty, staff, parents) and external messaging.Content Creation & Deployment: Write, edit, and publish school wide e-newsletters, website stories, social content, and leadership communications via platforms like Constant Contact.Advancement & Alumni Messaging: Partner with Development and Alumni Relations to ensure donor and alumni outreach aligns with school wide messaging and voice.Centennial Campaign: Execute the multi-year communications strategy for Pike’s 100th anniversary in 2026–2027 and beyond.Operations, Brand & Visual Assets
Project Management: Coordinate incoming marcom requests and project timelines across departments to ensure accurate, on-time delivery.Brand Governance: Enforce visual identity and editorial standards across all print, digital, and promotional merchandise.Media & Asset Management: Manage digital asset libraries, schedule photography/videography vendors, handle media permissions, and cover evening/weekend events for content capture as needed.Publication Management: Project manage the annual update, review cycle, and production of school handbooks, directory updates, and institutional documents across administrative departments.QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required; degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, English, or a related field preferred.Four or more years of marketing or communications experience preferably within an independent school, higher education, nonprofit, or other mission-driven organization.Outstanding writing, editing, verbal communication, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate institutional priorities into…
