Position Summary:As the face of Girl Scouts, the Regional Field Manager will spend the majority of time in the field promoting the Girl Scout mission, cultivating relationships, increasing visibility, and engaging prospective members and volunteers. This position will support one of twelve (12) regions that fall within the council service-area.
Working independently in the field as a relationship-focused and results-driven team member, the Regional Field Manager develops and executes data-informed membership recruitment and retention strategies within the assigned region, while meeting established metric goals and driving measurable growth outcomes.
The Regional Field Manager will provide training, mentorship, recognition, and support to members and volunteers through all the various Girl Scout participation ways (e.g. troops, Juliette, programs, camp, etc.)
Work Environment andSchedule:
This position features a flexible hybrid model, requiring 70% local travel/field work in assigned communities and 30% administrative work performed from home or in a GSEMA office. The standard work week is 37.5 hours and will require flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed, to support the essential functions of this position.
Essential Functions of the Position:Recruitment and Retention
- Develop and execute data-informed recruitment and retention strategies that align with council goals.
- Responsible for implementing and assessing comprehensive year-round recruitment and membership support strategies that increase girl and volunteer membership and enhance retention within their assigned region.
- Schedule, promote, and deliver events throughout the year, with a minimum of six (6) per month during peak recruitment season and a minimum of three (3) per month at all other times of the year.
- Nurture membership leads by maintaining consistent and timely follow up and engagement.
- Partner with service unit volunteers to expand membership through new recruitment and renewals.
Volunteer Support
- Provide support to current volunteers and troops by conducting a minimum of four(4) in-person field visits per month with the expectation that all assigned communities are visited at a minimum of two(2) times per year.
- Actively build and/or support robust Service Unit teams by recruiting, appointing, and onboarding volunteers into key local leadership roles to ensure regional stability and growth.
- Recognize, celebrate, and demonstrate appreciation for volunteers through a variety of formal and informal methods.
- Represent, promote and support Girl Scouts at local community and partner-hosted events while effectively communicating the mission, impact and opportunities.
- Participate in both council-led and local events to recognize and support volunteers and members (e.g. attend local Service Unit meetings, recognition events, and trainings).
- Address and resolve conflicts while escalating sensitive issues as needed.
- Recruit, retain, mentor, and develop adult volunteers to support troops and troop growth.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships and partnerships with community organizations such as schools, community centers, and faith-based groups to increase Girl Scout visibility.
- Provide consistent in-person support within the assigned region.
- Collaborate across all departments to enhance the Girl Scout Experience by connecting all members to available participation and volunteer development opportunities (e.g. trainings, programs, events, camp, member discounts, etc.)
- Provide concierge-type support to youth, adults and community members, ensuring answers are met by the appropriate department and content experts.
