Description
Under general direction of Full Time Recreation Staff Pomps Pond Directors and Head Guards. Work is available at the Pomps Pond to assist with general maintenance duties, the concession stand services, and gate attendance.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers or guests as they arrive at the gate, snack table or counter and interact with them in a helpful and positive manner.

• Provide customers with information on the pond and/or available snack items.

• Accept and process payments, and tender change according to specified instructions.

• Monitor and replenish all food and beverage items by stocking counters and displays in a neat manner.

• Responsible for enforcing parking rules, knowing Pond information, and providing outstanding guest service

• Remove and properly dispose of trash and debris accumulated in service stations, outside area, to stay in sync with company procedures.

• Ascertain that all stations are properly stocked.

• Ascertain that all received deliveries of food items and supplies are properly placed in their assigned areas.

• Work with customers / guests and staff members to resolve issues such as complaints regarding food quality and taste.

Qualifications

• Must be 15 years of age or older.
• Ability to handle and process payments throughout the day and reconcile the day's financials at the conclusion of the day with accuracy in counting of cash/check/charges.

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

• Knowledge and understanding of customer service and ability to ensure customer relations and expectations are met or exceeded.

• Ability to work outdoors: subject to extremes in noise, temperature, etc.

• Intermittent standing to assist customers.

• Ability to perform multiple tasks and deal effectively with interruptions.

• Ability to interact effectively and pleasantly with a wide variety of individuals, including customers, co-workers, outside professionals, and members of the public.

• Ability to understand, select and perform basic mathematical calculations efficiently and accurately.

• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Supplemental Information
Individuals must be able to lift 50 pounds and are expected to be available & commit to employment for the entire beach season (mid June through late August).

Pomps Pond is located off Abbot Street and is part of the Recreation Park complex. The pond comprises 16 of the 62 acres in the Park. The pond offers a spacious sunbathing area, recreational swimming, shaded picnic grounds, children's playground area, volleyball net, sailboat, canoe, paddleboard, and kayak rentals, bathrooms, showers, and a concession stand. Red Cross certified swim lessons are offered to the community.
