The Biomanufacturing Lab Technician will support R&D and pilot-scale bioprocess operations by preparing buffers and media, executing non-GMP unit operations, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation. This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, solution preparation experience, and familiarity with bioprocess workflows.

• Prepare buffers and media for small and pilot-scale operations.
• Perform solution calculations (molarity, molality, percentages) and determine component volumes based on algebraic equations.

• Set up, operate, and evaluate non‑GMP processes including:
• Bioreactors
• Centrifugation
• Filtration
• Chromatography
• Ultrafiltration/Diafiltration (UF/DF)
• Final fill operations

• Execute CIP (Clean‑in‑Place) and SIP (Sterilize‑in‑Place) procedures.
• Perform aseptic sampling, parts washing, inventory management, and accurate recordkeeping.
• Generate work orders and enter/evaluate data in electronic systems.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.

• Buffer and media preparation at small and pilot‑scale volumes.
• Hands‑on experience with non‑GMP bioprocess unit operations.
• Familiarity with CIP/SIP, aseptic techniques, and equipment cleaning processes.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with automated systems.
• Strong algebraic and solution preparation skills.

• HS diploma + 2 years experience in a lab or manufacturing setting (bioprocess or chemical)
• AS degree in a scientific field with relevant experience
• Ability to work independently within a matrixed team environment.
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement (LEAN, Six Sigma, 5S).
• Proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction.

• Work primarily in an indoor laboratory environment, standing for >85% of the shift.
• Walk between buildings; use stairs.
• Bend, lift, and transport materials as needed.
• Move items up to 500 lbs using assisted lifting equipment (motorized carts, lifts).
• Handle raw materials and media powders (up to 90 lbs with assistance) and large liquid volumes (up to 20 L).
• Work safely with hazardous materials using proper PPE and GLP standards.
