Position:
Onsite – Hardware Quality Specialist (Day Shift, 9/80 schedule).
Security Clearance: U.S. citizen required; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Company OverviewRTX is the world's largest aerospace and defense company, offering advanced systems and services to commercial, military, and government customers worldwide. Our Andover, MA team is looking for a Hardware Quality Specialist to join the Operations Quality Team.
Responsibilities- Inspect product for compliance with IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, JSTD‑001, and MIL‑HDBK‑454; handle non‑conform and disposition non‑conforming material on the floor.
- Perform walk‑back feedback to assemblers and inspectors when findings occur to reduce recurrence of escapes.
- Participate in MFG DPT (Defect Prevention Team) meetings, using baseline data and future forecast to drive containment, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Perform process audits, process walks, operator observations, and participate in MFG team discussions to drive process enhancements and reduce variation.
- Identify supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and back‑flow to the Supplier Quality Management team.
- Verify and validate improvement actions to understand effectiveness.
- AAA/AS degree (or other 2‑year post‑high‑school training) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working with manufacturing processes (assembly, inspection, and/or test).
- Ability to read technical documentation, technical data packages, and/or work instructions.
- U.S. citizenship; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
- Experience with IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, JSTD‑001, and MIL‑HDBK‑454 standards.
- Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
- Six Sigma, ASQ certifications.
- Proficiency in Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, and process mapping.
- Ability to facilitate cross‑functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g., 6‑sigma, lean manufacturing).
- Salary range: 60,000 USD – 114,000 USD.
