Senior Operations Quality Engineer (4th Shift)
LocationAndover, Massachusetts (US-MA-AN2, 352 Lowell St)
Schedule & Compensation4th Shift: 12‑hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6:00am–6:00pm; one 4‑hour shift on either Monday or Thursday. Additional 8% shift differential. Salary range: $86,800–$165,200.
Responsibilities- Baseline factory metrics (Scrap, Rework, FPY, etc.), identify top drivers, forecast demand and opportunities for improvement.
- Engage Manufacturing Defect Prevention Teams to align on top priorities, drive containment, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Perform process walks, operator observations, lead MFG team discussions to drive process enhancements and reduce variation.
- Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning initiatives (PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, etc.) using baseline metrics and future demand.
- Identify supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and back‑flow to Supplier Quality Management.
- Integrate product and process verifications such as First Articles and audits throughout value‑stream processes to prevent quality escapes, optimize throughput, and assure on‑time delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related technical field.
- Five (5) years of related Quality Engineering experience with manufacturing process experience in assembly, inspection, or test.
- Experience in root‑cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Experience developing and using quality metrics to drive corrective action.
- Proficiency with industry technical standards, interpreting drawings and work instructions.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Knowledge of process control techniques.
- Experience managing cross‑functional process improvement teams.
- Strong familiarity with ISO
9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems. - Six Sigma, ASQ certifications.
- Proficient in pareto analysis, cause‑effect diagrams, process mapping.
- Facilitating cross‑functional teams in systematic improvement (Six Sigma, lean manufacturing).
- Existing U.S. DoD Secret (or higher) clearance.
- Familiarity with GD&T and technical print reading.
- Knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, hardware installation, and structural assembly techniques.
