Position Overview

We are seeking an Operations Quality Engineer with hands‑on hardware quality experience to become a key part of the Effectors Operations Quality organization. The Operations Quality Team assures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Baseline factory metrics (scrap, rework, FPY, etc.), identify top drivers, forecast future demand for these drivers and identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
  • Engage manufacturing defect prevention teams to align on top priorities (using baseline data and forecast) to drive containment, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Action Implementation.
  • Perform process walks, operator observations, and lead manufacturing team discussions to reduce variation and drive process enhancements.
  • Lead/Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives (PFMEA, control plans, SPC, etc.) using baseline metrics and future demand; verify and validate improvements and efficiencies.
  • Identify supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and backflow to the Supplier Quality Management team.
  • Support 2nd shift operations with an 8% shift differential above base pay.
Qualifications – Must Have
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working within electrical, mechanical, system, manufacturing/industrial, or supplier engineering.
  • Experience in first article inspection reports (FAIRs) and/or quality monitoring in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience developing or using quality metrics or Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
  • Experience interpreting drawings, work instructions, and/or customer specifications.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.
Qualifications – Preferred
  • J-STD-001, Six Sigma, Lean experience and/or ASQ Certifications.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102 quality management systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of key process characteristics and ability to implement effective process control techniques.
  • Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Proficiency in pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, and process mapping.
  • Ability to facilitate cross‑functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g., Six‑Sigma, lean manufacturing).
