Quality Staff Technician – 1st Shift, Andover, MA
LocationAndover, MA – 350 Lowell St., Essex Bldg
Position TypeOnsite; U.S. citizen required for a U.S. Secret security clearance.
Job SummaryWeekdays (7:00AM–4:00PM or 8:00AM–5:00PM), 9/80 or 5/40 schedule.
Responsibilities- Hands‑on inspection of compound semiconductor MMIC (Monolithic Multilayer Integrated Circuits) devices.
- Interpret MIL and ANSI specifications and component drawings to make quality dispositions of suspect nonconformances.
- Physically inspect deliverable hardware and review manufacturing documentation required by process, technical data package, and contractual flowdowns.
- Support continuous‑improvement initiatives to strengthen manufacturing systems, processes, and products.
- Assist in operator training where process feedback indicates a need.
- Summarize and communicate audit and inspection findings.
- Work in a clean‑room environment with stringent protocols (e.g., bunny suit, no make‑up, perfume, jewelry, smart‑watch).
- AA/AS degree or other 2‑year post‑high‑school training.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing/factory environment as an assembler, operator, or inspector.
- 6years of experience in general hardware inspection.
- Experience performing accept/reject quality assessments in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience following work instructions and interpreting drawings and contractual flowdowns.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Experience in semiconductor fabrication and/or manufacturing environments.
- Experience inspecting MMICs with knowledge of industry standards such as MIL‑STD‑883.
- Microscope operation experience.
- Previous work in a represented (union) workforce environment.
- Experience administering quality workmanship standards.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple activities with minimal supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to discuss concerns with operations and support teams.
- Ownership and accountability, problem‑solving skills.
- Team‑oriented, proactive decision‑making.
- ASQ Certified Inspector or experience with First‑Article Inspection (FAI).
- Experience using Eyelit and/or CMES software for data entry.
- Computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary Range$53,100 – $100,900 USD (based on experience, education, and role).
