What You Will Learn
Receiving inspection is responsible for the quality validation of supplied material received onsite at a Raytheon facility. As a member of the MVE (Material Verification & Test) quality engineering team, candidates would be responsible for supporting the SMA (Suspended Material Area), JCF (Japan Central Facility), and PTC (Programming and Test Center) processes. You would be working in support of unionized hourly employees who perform inspections, test product, and move material.
Support will include performing root cause and corrective action to resolve nonconforming material and process issues. Day‑to‑day activities could include querying data from SAP and PDM systems and performing basic data analysis on retrieved data sets. Collaboration skills are critical and will be utilized as you participate in a distributed team and must rely on relationships with stakeholders across numerous other functional groups.
You Will Do
You will work closely with other teams from supply chain, quality, logistics, production control, and engineering. This is a job in a dynamic environment that will give a candidate a great introduction to many Raytheon tools, processes, and teams. Utilize problem‑solving skills and root‑cause and corrective action analysis to disposition and control nonconforming material. Identify, disseminate and satisfy established quality requirements.
Engage with hourly employees to verify the quality of supplied material. Apply familiarity of quality requirements, inspection processes, and Raytheon procedures to assure consistency and continuity of MVE activities. Perform data collection across numerous digital systems and use collected data to perform data analysis. Interact daily with other cross‑business teams to maintain and meet organizational goals and objectives. These groups include manufacturing, configuration control, design engineering, supply chain, production control, finance, and various program management personnel.
Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures. Support projects and activities related to standard work, process improvement, and metrics. Assist in development and execution of training documentation. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- BA/BS degree and 5 years of prior relevant engineering experience.
- Experience with quality engineering and inspection processes, and the management of non‑confirming materials.
- Previous experience using root‑cause and corrective action processes to resolve non‑conforming material.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Familiarity with SAP tools and PDM systems.
- Familiar with MIL‑STD‑883, J‑STD‑020, and J‑STD‑033.
- Experience with data collection and analysis.
- Familiarity with metric data collection and monitoring.
- Background with continuous improvement activities.
- Hands‑on problem‑solving applications.
- Experience with mechanical and chemical material property validation.
- Familiarity with use and interpretation of results from measurement equipment.
- Experience with risk management related to movement and control of material.
- Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs, or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
- Experience working with the union labor force.
- Tracking factory metrics (backlog, past‑due orders, unit hours), identifying top customers, and forecasting future demand for top customers and identifying areas of opportunity for improvement.
This position requires a security clearance. The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
