This is a 4th shift position with 12‑hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (6:00am–6:00pm) plus one 4‑hour shift on either Monday or Thursday. An additional 8% shift differential is offered.
Responsibilities- Analyze baseline factory metrics (scrap, rework, first‑pass yield) and forecast future demand to identify improvement opportunities.
- Engage Manufacturing Defect Prevention Teams (DPT) to align priorities, drive containment, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Conduct process walks, observe operators, and lead manufacturing team discussions to reduce variation and enhance processes.
- Lead or drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives—PFMEA, control plans, SPC—using baseline metrics and future demand forecasts.
- Identify supplier escapes or issues, ensure proper containment, and coordinate back‑flow with Supplier Quality Management.
- Integrate product and process verifications, such as First Articles and audits, throughout the value stream to prevent quality escapes, optimize throughput, and ensure on‑time delivery.
- Five (5) years of quality engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or another technical field.
- Experience in manufacturing processes such as assembly, inspection, or test.
- Ability to identify root cause and initiate/implement effective short‑term and long‑term corrective actions.
- Experience developing or using quality metrics that drive root‑cause analysis and corrective action, and instituting perceptive verifications.
- Proficiency interpreting industry technical standards, drawings, and work instructions.
- U.S. citizenship and capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
- Knowledge of key process characteristics and implementation of effective process‑control techniques.
- Experience managing cross‑functional process‑improvement teams with technical expertise.
- Strong familiarity with ISO
9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems. - Six Sigma or ASQ certifications.
- Proficiency in Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, and process mapping.
- Ability to facilitate systematic improvement activities such as 6‑sigma or lean manufacturing.
- Existing U.S. DoD Secret (or higher) clearance.
- Familiarity with GD&T and technical print reading.
- Knowledge of CNC machining, sheet‑metal fabrication, hardware installation, and structural assembly techniques.
U.S. citizenship is mandatory. A U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret or higher) must be obtained and maintained; only U.S. citizens are eligible for such clearance.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary range: $86,800–$165,200
