Position Overview
HVAC Technician – Onsite – Andover, MA (1st shift 6:00am – 2:30pm). Starting wage $48.46/hour with $10,000 sign‑on bonus. Requires U.S. citizenship and existing DoD Confidential Security Clearance.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC/R equipment, including piping, rooftop units, chillers, pumps, motors, belts, pulleys, compressors, valves, and cooling towers.
- Diagnose and fix HVAC/R malfunctions using wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and operating manuals.
- Adjust and service oil/gas burners; annually clean heating boiler combustion chambers and flues.
- Maintain, repair, and replace DDC and pneumatic controls.
- Calibrate humidity controls and heating/cooling load calculations.
- Perform routine inspection, housekeeping, and safety compliance checks.
- Retrieve materials and stock for assigned work; maintain accurate records.
- Notify supervision of major or extensive repairs and initiate follow‑up actions as required.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools – including refrigerant manifolds, multimeters, thermal imaging, and diagnostic equipment – to perform repairs and installations.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of trade school experience in HVAC/R.
- Current Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician license.
- Current #608 EPA Universal Certification.
- U.S. citizenship; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance (DoD Confidential).
- Good computer skills and ability to read safety procedures.
- Reliable, dependable, with strong teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to travel and reliable transportation for alternate assignments.
