Staff Software Engineer – Dräger

- Work Location:
Hybrid (minimum 3 days per week in the office) - Employment Type:

- Work within a team of engineers and test personnel to produce high-quality deliverables during design, implementation, integration, testing and support phases.
- Diagnose, debug and resolve defects independently; provide technical leadership to development teams.
- Coordinate activities of other engineers and guide the successful, timely completion of software modules and subsystems by setting clear goals.
- Perform unit, subsystem and integration testing to ensure correct software operation and quality; mentor to ensure best testing practices.
- Provide advanced system-level support to clinical engineers, quality engineers, service engineers and test personnel.
- Contribute technical insight to program planning, strategic planning and department-wide process improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers by providing ongoing technical guidance, review and assessment of development assignments.
- Comply with all internal SOPs, FDA and industry regulations; develop and improve development processes, procedures and protocols.
- Utilize and maintain the software configuration management system to keep software files correctly managed.
- Build and install software in a development and product environment.
- BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience; MS preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in software design, analysis and troubleshooting in an engineering environment.
- Experience requiring technical leadership within an advanced software development environment.
- Windows application development (WIN
32/MFC), batch programming, and strong interest in Windows internals. - Programming languages: C++, Python.
- Debugging in Visual Studio; TCP/IP and UDP network programming.
- Demonstrated ability to elicit, write, analyze, review, trace software requirements.
- Medical device or regulated industry experience.
- Experience with UWF, Secure Boot, Bit Locker.
- C#, CMake, Ninja, Secure programming.
The targeted pay range for this position is typically between $140,000 and $155,000, with eligibility for an annual bonus.
