The Software Engineer II is a hybrid position located in Andover, MA, requiring a minimum of 3 days a week in the office. Responsibilities include product software architecture, design, implementation, testing, and establishing procedures to optimize development efficiency, software quality, and product cost.
- Work within a team of engineers and test personnel to produce high‑quality deliverables during the design, implementation, integration, test, and support phases of product development. Specifically, with minimal supervision, diagnose, debug, and resolve defects; design small modules and functions; translate designs into functional, tested software.
- Comply with all internal SOPs and FDA and industry regulations.
- Utilize the software configuration management system to correctly maintain SW files. Build and install SW in a development and product environment.
- Support clinical engineers, quality engineers, service engineers, and test personnel by executing tests, reproducing defects, and documenting defect analysis in a defect‑tracking tool.
- Take direction from senior engineering staff, seek advice as needed; respond to coaching, analyze successes and failures to improve, and take on unfamiliar tasks.
- Provide feedback during code and design reviews.
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Master’s degree (MS) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- 2–5 years of hands‑on experience in software design, analysis, and troubleshooting in an engineering environment (1–3 years with an MS degree).
- Ability to provide code and design feedback and communicate internally.
- Experience with C/C++ development.
- Proficiency in one of the following:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux, UNIX/Linux development environment tools, or UNIX/Linux systems programming. - Experience with the Qt Software Development Framework (or any GUI experience).
- No
SQL database development technologies. - TCP/IP programming experience.
- Bash shell scripting.
- Wireshark packet‑capture analysis experience.
- X11 Windows programming.
The targeted pay range for this position is typically between $91,299 and $100,900. Base pay may vary based on market location and individual factors. This position is eligible for an annual bonus.
