Associate Veterinarian – Ham Lake Veterinary Hospital – Andover, Minnesota

Summary

Ham Lake Veterinary Hospital is seeking a passionate and skilled Associate Veterinarian to join our team. We offer a competitive salary (USD $115,000 – $130,000 per year) with production bonuses, a $20,000 sign‑on bonus for full‑time positions, flexible scheduling, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for continuous education.

Practice Overview

We practice Preventive Medicine, General Medicine, and General Surgery in a full‑service facility equipped with digital radiography, an in‑house lab, and access to reference laboratories. Founded in 2005, we have grown to a team of more than 20 veterinarians, technicians, and receptionists serving the Ham Lake/East Bethel area.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment, collect diagnostic samples, and interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end‑of‑life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
