Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) Camera Technician to join our environmental compliance team. This position involves using specialized optical gas imaging (OGI) equipment to detect fugitive emissions at various industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience with FLIR camera technology and a strong understanding of environmental regulations. This is a field-based role with consistent weekly hours and excellent earning potential through regular overtime opportunities.
Responsibilities- Operate specialized optical gas imaging (OGI) cameras to detect gas leaks and fugitive emissions
- Perform comprehensive LDAR surveys at oil and gas facilities, refineries, and petrochemical plants
- Document all identified leaks according to regulatory requirements (EPA Method 21, state regulations)
- Generate detailed reports of findings with appropriate documentation and imagery
- Tag and track components requiring repair in compliance with regulatory time frames
- Maintain accurate records of all monitored components for regulatory compliance
- Calibrate and properly maintain all LDAR equipment
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures at all client sites
- Work independently while maintaining communication with the compliance team
- Travel to various field locations as required
- Provide technical guidance to clients regarding leak repair prioritization and compliance requirements
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with regulations and technology
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in LDAR monitoring or environmental compliance
- Familiarity with EPA Method 21 and relevant state/federal emissions regulations
- Experience with LDAR database software and reporting systems
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail and methodical work approach
- Ability to work independently in field conditions with minimal supervision
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills
- Comfortable working in various industrial environments and weather conditions
- Physical ability to walk extensively, climb ladders, and carry equipment (up to 40 lbs)
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to environmental protection
- EPA certification or experience with LDAR regulations preferred
Location: Andrews, TX
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8-10hr shifts
Pay: $25-$30/hour, $55 per diem
