- Coordinate and provide environmental technical support to field operations, engineering, & regulatory personnel
- This position is a field-based position that manages environmental compliance and requires strong communication skills between the Houston office and field operations staff
- Perform job functions independently and able to manage task assignment and completion with limited supervision
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, permits, authorizations, and agreements.
- Provide knowledge and expertise across all environmental media and programs, including Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act, and applicable waste management requirements.
- Participate in the project planning and development through all stages to facilitate communication of project impacts between all stakeholders.
- Manages consultants as required in the development of remediation and soil/groundwater cleanup projects
- Responds to active releases and supports spill response and cleanup efforts
- Coordinates routine compliance inspections with operations for air permits and participates in external audits as required
- Serves as a member of the company’s emergency response team and be involved in the spill management program.
- Investigates accidents to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures, corrective actions, and developing safety program.
- Adheres to the company’s values – integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment and innovation.
- Supports company vision and mission.
- Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities
- Develop tools and templates to manage the collection of environmental compliance information
- Ability to be available 24hrs per day (on call questions, emergencies, etc)
- Other duties as assigned by management
- 3+ years related work experience in an environmental specialist/compliance role is typical for this position, but years in the position is not as relevant as the application of knowledge and experience
- Preferred:
Oil & Gas, Petro Chemical, or midstream experience - Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software
- Experience interacting, advising, negotiating, and communicating effectively
- Experience with soil and groundwater sampling techniques and protocols
