Position Summary

The Quality Supervisor oversees all quality control and quality assurance activities within the facility. This role leads a team of inspectors and technicians, ensures products meet customer and regulatory requirements, and drives continuous improvement in quality processes. The Quality Supervisor works closely with production, engineering, and management to maintain high standards of product integrity, documentation accuracy, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Supervise and support quality inspectors, technicians, and related staff.
• Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching and training.
• Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
• Ensure the quality team follows all procedures, standards, and safety requirements.

Quality Control & Assurance

• Oversee inspection of incoming materials, in‑process components, and finished products.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and industry standards.
• Review and approve inspection reports, test results, and quality documentation.
• Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective action activities for quality issues or non‑conformances.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve quality processes, reduce defects, and enhance efficiency.
• Support implementation of Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with production and engineering to resolve recurring quality problems.
• Recommend changes to procedures, work instructions, and inspection methods.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and complete quality records, logs, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards (ISO, API, etc.).
• Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits.
• Manage non‑conforming product processes, including segregation, documentation, and disposition.

Communication & Coordination

• Serve as the primary liaison between quality, production, engineering, and management.
• Communicate quality issues, trends, and corrective actions clearly and promptly.
• Participate in daily production meetings and provide quality updates.
• Support customer inquiries, audits, and quality‑related visits.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of inspection tools, measurement techniques, and quality standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with ISO, API, or other industry‑specific quality systems.
• NDT certifications (MT, UT, VT) if applicable to the industry.
• Experience with ERP or quality management systems (QMS).
• Lean or Six Sigma training or certification.
• Leadership with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Decision‑making in fast‑paced environments.
• Communication across all levels of the organization.
• Continuous improvement mindset focused on quality and efficiency.

Working Conditions

• Manufacturing or industrial environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and inspection equipment.
• Requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel‑toe boots.
• May require overtime or shift flexibility based on production needs.
