Code Vessel Welder

Location:

Andrews, TX We are seeking an experienced Code Vessel Welder to join our welding team in Andrews, TX. This position is responsible for performing high-quality welding operations while maintaining strict safety, quality, and production standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with pipe and structural welding, be able to interpret drawings and specifications, and consistently produce welds that meet inspection requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform welding in accordance with approved WPS and applicable welding codes.
  • Weld using SMAW, GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW processes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols.
  • Prepare materials through cutting, grinding, fitting, and fabrication.
  • Maintain weld quality to meet visual, radiographic, and ultrasonic inspection standards.
  • Safely operate welding and related shop equipment.
  • Complete required weld documentation and quality records.
  • Follow all company, client, and OSHA safety policies.
  • Work with supervisors and inspectors to resolve weld repairs and quality concerns.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience with pipe welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials.
  • Strong knowledge of structural and pipe welding practices.
  • Ability to pass an ASME 6G Pipe Welding Test.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and welding specifications.
  • Basic math skills including fractions and decimals.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Schedule
  • Monday through Friday, generally 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Overtime and weekend work as required to meet project demands.
Physical & Working Conditions
  • Work primarily in a shop environment with exposure to heat, noise, welding fumes, and heavy equipment.
  • Ability to stand, bend, walk, and lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work long hours when needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Required use of PPE including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, welding shields, and FRC clothing when applicable.
Requirements
  • Successfully pass pre-employment drug screening, background check, MVR review, and any required client screening processes.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Availability to work extended hours and respond to operational needs with short notice.
