Overview
The Construction Project Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing and coordinating construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that schedules and budgets are adhered to. This role reviews projects in depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs. The position requires extensive travel and is based in the Angleton, Texas office.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership in the initial planning stage by collaborating with clients, architects, engineers and other parties, and develop detailed descriptions of jobs and materials required.
- Schedule and coordinate projects in logical steps, budgeting the time necessary to meet each deadline.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates and regularly communicate with clients about budget progress and costs.
- Ensure adherence to the budget and make quick adjustments when unexpected complications or issues arise.
- Plan, coordinate, organize, oversee, and direct activities related to the construction and maintenance of assigned structures, facilities and systems.
- Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on the job site and that all safety codes are met.
- Oversee contract negotiations, revisions, additions and enforce compliance by all parties.
- Collaborate with clients, supervisory staff, contractors and design professionals to discuss and resolve problems, including work procedures, complaints and construction or design issues.
- Manage and lead actions necessary due to delays, bad weather or emergencies at construction sites.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with owners, managers, designers, supervisors, tradespersons and craft workers.
- Work on site at the office and assigned work sites; no remote work is available.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of commercial construction experience required.
- Extensive travel required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills essential.
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- 25 days PTO.
